Dannii Minogue is to return to the X Factor, apparently…

Having given Dannii Mingoue a massive, metaphorical slap in the face by revealing details about their fling so soon after her split from Kris Smith, Simon Cowell is now trying to lure the Aussie singer back onto the X Factor judging panel. Gary Barlow and Tulisa have already confirmed they are returning for the show however Kelly Rowland has apparently been axed from this years one and Simon wants Dannii to step into her place. An inside X factor source told the tabloids last night: “Simon thinks she’s great. They are still friends. If it works out, then it will be fantastic for X Factor. No formal offer has yet gone out but this is likely to happen in the next few days.” “Dannii is the top of ITV’s wish-list for new judges on the show and they are keen to begin official talks. She is extremely popular among X Factor fans and would still be a big draw.” Dannii has previously expressed an interest in returning to the programme, however that was way before Simon blabbed about his brief relationship with her so we doubt she’ll be so super keen now. Katy Perry’s name has also been thrown into the hat as a possible choice of replacement judge.

Don’t get us wrong, we were extremely pleased when Little Mix won the X Factor on Sunday night, but we’re already over it and could quite happily forget the hit reality TV show exists until it takes over our lives again next year, but until then we’d rather not think about it, hear about it or talk about it, agreed? Yeah, we thought you might. Unfortunately Kelly Rowland – pictured leaving One for One nightclub in London last night after hosting her very own X Factor wrap party – doesn’t agree and she’s already started blabbing about the next series. Kelly said, “There is no place like the UK X Factor. If Simon wants me back next year then that would be good.” She then added, “I’m definitely considering buying a house over here as I love it here.” “My mother would have a problem with me moving because it’s so far away from home so she may have to move with me. She doesn’t like long plane rides so I’ve got to make sure I make her happy.” Wow, back up lady, we think you might be getting a little bit ahead of yourself. Will Simon want Kelly back next year? We doubt it.

When Amelia Lily was probed during the X Factor press conference yesterday about how she felt to be back on the show after being booted off by her mentor, Kelly Rowland stepped in and got rather snappy with one reporter. She said that was “history” and she was now concerned with Amelia winning the show. However new reports today have suggested that that’s exactly what Kelly is not concerned with; according to The Mirror the former Destiny’s Child star “doesn’t want” Amelia Lily to win following Misha B’s departure as she was her favourite contestant. A source told the newspaper that Kelly looked distinctly bored when she returned to the Amelia’s hometown this week: “Kelly couldn’t hide the fact she didn’t want to be in Middlesbrough and seemed to spend most of her time in a hotel. Amelia was out all day trying to drum up support while Kelly was nowhere to be seen. The feeling is she’s not too fussed about what happens and doesn’t really want Amelia to win.” Rowland has also been criticised for jetting off to Germany a few days ago to promote her album when she should’ve been spending time with her finalist. So, in order to quell all this nasty speculation, Kelly took 17-year-old Amelia to celeb haunt The Box last night for some bonding time. Coincidently while there they also bumped into Kitty Brucknell who they no doubt spent the evening trying to avoid.

The people of Middlesbrough (well some of them, not all) seemed awfully happy to see Amelia Lily yesterday when she returned to her hometown, along with mentor Kelly Rowland, for a gig ahead of this weekend’s final. Amelia Lily was pretty chuffed with the turn out as well, as she should be; she still stands a very strong chance of winning the competition if bookies’ odds are to be believed. We guess it all depends on the final, which is taking place at Wembley arena this year. What will she be singing we wonder, and who will she be dueting with? Well, we don’t know which song she’ll be performing however we do know who she’ll be singing alongside for that all important, exciting duet. Can you guess who it is? It’s her mentor, Kelly Rowland. Yes, really. The show is obviously cutting costs this year by getting the contestant’s mentors to sing alongside them in the final. So Gary will be singing with Marcus and Tulisa with Little Mix while Louis, presumably, sits like a lemon at the judges’ table by himself. Frankly we were hoping for some slightly more exciting guest appearances than that.

No, it was a signed photograph of himself, which he’d had framed of course. Some might think it was egotistical or even narcissistic for someone to give them a signed photograph of themselves, but not Kelly Rowland. During an interview the X Factor judge (who was outside the Radio One studios earlier) proudly showed off the picture (which has a message on it, saying ‘To Lippy, thanks for everything.’) to a reporter. ‘Simon sent that to me on my first day,’ she said, smiling. It seems Kelly Rowland isn’t too happy about Simon Cowell’s plan to force the judges to switch categories. She’s threatened to ‘walk’ if anybody but her puts their grubby mitts on her girls. “I don’t want anybody touching my girls. I’m not giving Misha and Janet up for anyone. I’d walk before I gave them up” said Kelly following the X Factor yesterday. “Everybody is doing such a good job mentoring their acts. I don’t know why they’d do that.” Um, because it’s a desperate attempt to win ratings, that’s why Kelly. The former Destiny’s Child singer - who also performed at G-A-Y last night (along with Sophie Habibis, Craig Colton and The Wanted) where we caught up with her – added that Simon Cowell is really happy with the job that she’s doing on the X Factor judging panel so far. She said: “He calls me Lippy – Simon likes me because I have a smart mouth. I’m not afraid of him and I respect him. We would be electric on the same judging panel… can you imagine? But I love being on a panel with Gary, Louis and Tulisa – despite what people say.” She also reckons that Misha B has got what it takes to make it big after the show has long finished. She added: “Misha is the one I think could make it in the States. We’re at the tip of the iceberg with her.” Let’s be honest, if Kelly was made to switch categories she wouldn’t really quit would she?
