Viola Davis Wins 2012 SAG for Best Actress

Ready for what ended up being quite the eventful evening, Viola Davis turned up as planned for the 18th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards in Los Angeles on Sunday (January 29). The 46-year-old big screen star worked the red carpet at the Shrine Exposition Center venue in a Marchesa frock with Jimmy Choo shoes before hitting the entrance ahead of the annual Tinseltown celebration of cinema. Among the esteemed winners, Miss Davis took home Outstanding Performance By A Female Actor In A Leading Role honors while beating out Michelle Williams, Glenn Close, Meryl Streep and Tilda Swinton. Viola also joined her "The Help" castmates in collecting Best Picture accolades while the night saw Dick Van Dyke present Screen Actors Guild’s 48th Life Achievement Award to Mary Tyler Moore.

A favorite to take home a little more hardware for his quickly growing collection, Jean Dujardin turned up for the 18th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards in Los Angeles on Sunday (January 29). The 39-year-old French actor suited up for the red carpet affair being held at the Shrine Exposition Center before hitting the entrance ahead of the annual Tinseltown celebration of cinema. Among those tapped to grace the stage, Mr Dujardin happens to have the important task of presenting an award, with fellow trophy passer-outers including George Clooney, Michelle Williams, Brad Pitt, Zoe Saldana and Natalie Portman. Also one of the esteemed nominees, Jean is up for Outstanding Performance By A Male Actor In A Leading Role for his work in "The Artist" while competing against a tough lineup including George Clooney, Demian Bichir, Leonardo DiCaprio and Brad Pitt. With the ceremony airing live on TNT and TBS beginning at 8 p.m. (ET), the night will also see Dick Van Dyke present Screen Actors Guild’s 48th Life Achievement Award to Mary Tyler Moore.
