Whenever Cheryl Cole releases a song about a relationship that has gone awry, people always inevitably speculate that it’s been penned about her ex-husband Ashley. Look how happy Cheryl Cole and Cameron Diaz looked when they cosied up on the red carpet together last night at the UK premiere of What to Expect When You’re Expecting. No, you’re right they didn’t look particularly happy, however the pair – who were in white and cream outfits for the event – couldn’t have sounded happier when talking to the press at the premiere, particularly Cameron who only had lovely things to say about Chezza. “She’s talented, and she’s so lovely and I think of course this is the beginning of many (films) for her. "I’m sure she can do whatever she wants to. She really did us a huge favour by coming in and letting us sequester her for a couple of days and take her out to an old abandoned warehouse in Atlanta and make her act for us.” Well it sounds like Cheryl didn’t mind too much, she’s hoping it’ll be the start of a lustrous acting career: “This is a big night for me. It’s nice to bring the film back to my country. I’d love to be offered more acting.” Other celebs to attend the event included: Chace Crawford, Mathew Morrison, Rochelle Wiseman and erm, Lydia Bright.

Well it’s fair to say that Cheryl Cole really knows how to get the public going. A couple of weeks ago she released the first teaser for her Call My Name video. It was what we would call a sneak peak because it barely lasted 15 seconds. Now she’s gone and done it again but this time we all get a bit more to digest. The clip shows Chezza withering around in a pair of skimpy hot pants, yup she’s really teasing us this time. Hopefully this is going to be the last teaser clip, as the full video will be premiered on May 2nd. Judging by the steamy nature of what we see here, it’s probably a good thing she’s giving us an idea of what to expect before we view the full three or so minutes. We feel like we haven’t seen Cheryl Cole in absolutely months. That’s because we actually haven’t, so that’s why we did a tiny little wee in our pants (from excitement) when she arrived at the Radio One studios this morning to promote her new song “Call My Name”, and to answer some questions of course. Unfortunately she didn’t say anything particularly interesting, however it was nice to hear her gentle Geordie accent nonetheless. Talk mainly revolved around Twitter with both Cheryl and presenter Chris Moyles agreeing about how much they like it, while Chezza admitted (and this might make you do a little wee in your pants too) that she some times “creeps” on her followers profiles. “I creep all the time, it’s fascinating” she said. Predictably the subject of the Girls Aloud reunion cropped up too, and as has already been reported the singer confirmed that the group did indeed recently get together to discuss it. She added that with the 10th anniversary coming up they all wanted to do something “special” she added (ominously) “watch out…” Simon Cowell and the whole X Factor USA fiasco popped up too, with the Girls Aloud star confessing that she still feels confused about why she got the boot from the programme. She said that she’s talked to Simon “loads of times” since then and has had some “very interesting” conversations with him (she stressed that twice) but didn’t go on to elaborate what about. Don’t you hate it when people say that? She also said she’s still single and she confirmed that she is just calling herself “Cheryl” these days, though she hasn’t officially or legally dropped Cole as her surname. Concurringly she also seems rather fond of watching Geordie Shore and says she finds it “addictive”. See, not exactly her most revealing interview ever eh? But at least she looked nice…

If the music mogul thought last week was the worst of his life then he better think again because it seems like Cheryl Cole is going to make things a whole lot worse. The former X Factor judge is apparently fuming after reading what Simon is reported to have said about her in his unauthorised biography. It claims that Simon said: “I would have liked an affair with Cheryl. I felt like a mouse being played with by a beautiful cat.” Although the book, which revealed details of his affair with Danni Minogue, is unauthorised it is public knowledge that Simon did in fact speak to the biographer and was apparently aware of just what the book was going to say. Yesterday an upset Cheryl spoke to a friend, reportedly saying: “How could he embarrass me like this? He was an uncle figure to me and to think all along he was trying to hit on me. It’s disgusting and creepy. I’ll never work for that man again.” Yeah we knew that already love but apparently it’s worse than her being a bit peed off. It’s thought she is going to use her own book to dish the dirt on Simon. She will say how he told her to dump Ashley as their marriage fell apart, how she felt ‘stitched up’ after taking a role on X Factor US only to be dumped and how her romance with Derek Hough really helped her but Simon told her to dump him too. To be honest, none of that sounds too explosive to us, does it to you? Apparently she’s also going to spill the beans on Girls Aloud, writing about how they overcame their difficulties amid bust-ups, break-up and rehab session. Cheryl has already started work on her book, which will be released in November. It’s thought she has already chosen a ghost-writer to do the job. Yeah we’re pretty sure this is all water off a duck’s back for Simon, but we guess we’ll have to wait and see exactly what Chezza does end up revealing.

So, what do you make of Cheryl’s new song?

We’ll be honest, when we first heard Fight For This Love we just didn’t like it and/or get it. However, slowly but surely the repetitive (oh so repetitive) beat and lyrics got caught in our head and slowly but surely we found ourselves subconsciously singing the tune in our head and tapping our foot along to the beat even when we weren’t listening to it. So perhaps that’s exactly what will happen with Cheryl’s new song (it’s just Cheryl these days in case you’d forgotten) Call My Name – which has been written and produced by Calvin Harris - because right now we just don’t like it. We don’t hate it you understand (it’s far too bland to detest); it just doesn’t grab us. Perhaps again it’s a grower and not a shower and we’ll eventually fall for its distinctly Euro-house sounding beat, but for now all we have to say about it is - meh.

Having teased us with sexy photos from the set of her new video recently, Cheryl Cole has confirmed (or rather her people have) that her latest song will debut online this Friday, at 8.10am to be precise. The track is called ‘Call My Name’ and is written by Calvin Harris, it won’t be released however until June 10th and the video for it will premiere in a couple of weeks on May 2nd. Her album will be titled “A Million Lights” and Chezza has collaborated with artists such as Will.I.am, Alex Da Kid and Lana Del Rey on it. Lana Del Rey eh? Well that’s exciting isn’t it? Thinking about it they’re quite a good match musically, after all they both sound pretty dodgy when playing live.
