Report: Brett Ratner Quitting Oscars after Homophobic Slur

Filed under: Brett Ratner Brett Ratner is planning to "step down" as the producer of the 2012 Academy Awards ... after dropping the homophobic F-bomb at a media event Sunday night ... this according to the Hollywood Reporter. Ratner -- best known for directing the "Rush Hour" movies -- was at a fan Q&A session for "Tower Heist" Sunday when he told the crowd, "Rehearsal is for f*gs." Ratner later called his remarks, "dumb."According to THR, Ratner will resign from his gig with the Oscars -- he was not fired.
