Victoria Beckham reveals she once forgot Brooklyn on the school run

See Victoria Beckham is such a normal mum, she does the school run for goodness sake. VB, who could easily afford childcare, makes a point of doing it all herself (or so she says). Judging by the following story though, it’d probs be a good idea to get a bit of help. While talking to Vanity Fair mag about the new Range Rover she has helped design she manages to slip in a story, which involves a Range Rover but at the same time makes her seem like your average housewife. Clever. She said: “Oh my God, you know what I did the other day? This is a funny story. I got up in the morning, and I knew that I had a whole morning full of conference calls. So I got up early with Harper, sorted Harper out, got all the kids their breakfast, got them ready for school, put Harper in the car seat, and said, ‘Come on, kids, we have to get going or we’re going to be late’. “Every morning I take Brooklyn, and David takes the little boys to school. We take it in turns because they go to two different schools.” Thanks for all the added detail Vicky, although we’re pretty sure no one really cares who takes the kids to school. Anyway, she continued: “So I jump in my Range Rover, put the car seat in, put my iPod on—obviously very important—and I drive to school.” Ah the Range Rover, nicely slipped in, very subtle. Here’s the punch line: “And then I realize, I’d left Brooklyn in the kitchen. I was driving along, talking away, and all of a sudden, I looked at the front seat, and I was like, ‘Shit! Shit! I’ve forgot something!’ “I’d gotten down the road, and I literally had to turn around and drive back up the driveway. And David was standing there in the driveway with all three boys, just [shakes her head].” Hang on, isn’t Brooklyn about 13 now, so surely he’s old enough to get himself in the car? Who cares though we just love the image of David standing there, probs in his white y-fronts, looking unimpressed with his wife. She finishes the anecdote saying: “And I felt like such an idiot because I was in such a rush. Harper was in the car, I was in the car, and we were on the way to school. But we did not have the child who needed to go to school.” Oh blimey, it’s all too much. How very silly of you Victoria. This is kind of like Home Alone 2.0, involving a super famous family and lots of mod cons. At least she didn’t leave Harper in her car chair on the car roof, now that would really get us chuckling.

She looked especially so last night in fact when she went to an event in Honk Kong for her fashion brand, after which she Tweeted a picture of herself relaxing in a dressing gown. The former spice girl wore trademark mahoosive heels for the occasion paired with a white dress, gold belt and blue cardigan – and not forgetting a casual little plait. Her pout came as standard, obviously.

It’s almost as if VB has just discovered the camera on her phone because over the last few days she’s been a little trigger-happy. A number of the pictures have showed her ‘humorous side’ and this latest one shows that she’s just like us. You know, just casually kicking back in her dressing gown, glass of champagne in hand, having a giggle about something or another. Accompanying the image, she wrote: “So much fun in Hong Kong, Thank u!! X vb,” She also Tweeted an image of herself at an event earlier in the evening, followed by a witty one of her hair stylist Ken Paves. We wonder what we’ll get a picture of tomorrow? Maybe she’ll do a Kesha and take one of herself doing a wee, just in case we don’t get that she’s normal.

And this is where cake comes into the equation – delicious, fatty, comforting cake usually consumed in copious amounts on our, and indeed your, special day. Not for Victoria Beckham however; you won’t be at all surprised to hear a rich, chocolate sponge wasn’t on her menu when she turned 38 yesterday. No, no instead she got a plate of fruit, a picture of which she tweeted last night. An admittedly delicious-looking plate of fruit, but still - just fruit. She is one crazy cat isn’t she? This past holiday weekend was fun for all, and David and Victoria Beckham were especially excited about celebrating their daughter Harper Seven’s first Easter. The Family Beckham traveled to Napa Valley, California with Gordon Ramsay and his family to get out of the big city and relax. And of course, everything was top-shelf, from the chocolate candies for the kids to the family activities planned throughout the trip. Victoria who featured in the Spanish edition of Harpers Bazaar explained: “We always joke “We always joke that we have this fabulously gorgeous 17 year old model who is six foot whatever and then I say, ‘OK, I’m going to put it on. I stand for the general public here.” Victoria who struggled to model her designs while she was pregnant with her daughter Harper, said “It’s part of the process – I’ll stand here in my knickers and start draping fabric over myself. Once again Victoria Beckham has decided to show off her incredibly slim, envious post-baby body in this glamorous 1950’s style photoshoot for a special issue of Harper’s Bazaar magazine. Channelling the likes of Liz Taylor and Marilyn Monroe in the shoot, Posh poses in retro swimsuits and tells the publication, in her accompanying interview with them, that she couldn’t stop crying after receiving that fashion award last year. “When they read my name, I was genuinely not expecting it,” she said. “It was an out-of-body experience. “It was like my heart was going to jump out of my body. I came offstage and said, ‘I cried three times, I didn’t thank the people I wanted to thank, I was really rubbish’. “But I think people saw the real me - and the truth is, I would have felt much more comfortable in my pyjamas with the kids and David in a hotel watching it on TV.” Pull the other leg will you love. Then, when asked by the magazine who she’d like to be stuck in a lift with, she responded: “I’m quite obsessed with Tilda Swinton. I find her intriguing, very stylish, she clearly understands fashion.” Oh what we wouldn’t give to watch them have a conversation together.
