Taking care of some media duties, Tina Fey was spotted at Rockefeller Center for an appearance on “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon” last night (April 12). The “30 Rock” chick looked to be having a great time as she reconnected with her old “Saturday Night Live” cohort Fallon, and talked about the tricks she has to pull to get some alone time from her family and job. “We’re shooting all the time and then if I have a day off I have to fit all this other stuff in. So I had like one day off a couple weeks ago and I had to go and get a bunch of painful dental work done.” “So I called the office and I was like, ‘Guys my teeth really hurt, I think I’m gonna write from home,’ and then I called my home and I was like, ‘Guys, I gotta go to work,’ and then I went and I bought a big piece of cake and I went to the movies all by myself.”

She’s a driving force in the entertainment industry, and earlier tonight (January 29) Tina Fey was in the house for the 18th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards. The “30 Rock” star strolled up to the Shrine Exposition Center in Los Angeles ready for action, chatting with the press and posing for photos along the way. Tina is on the list of presenters for the evening, along with Julianna Margulies, Michelle Williams, Meryl Streep, and Natalie Portman. She’s also up for the trophy for Outstanding Performance By A Female Actor In A Comedy Series, as are Julie Bowen, Edie Falco, Betty White, and Sofia Vergara.

Broadcast and cable television networks waited all year patiently, and the time finally came Thursday morning for the Emmy Award nominations. And that wasn't the only news. A recent changed rule by the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences increased the number of nominees in bigger categories so that new faces and series could also share the spotlight with Emmy veterans. 30 Rock" managed to get 22 nominations that included nominations for Tina Fey and Alex Baldwin. Mad Men" received 16 nominations that included nods for Jon Hamm and Elsabeth Moss. Comedy categories were picked up by Sarah Silverman, who was nominated for lead actress in a comedy series along with Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Tina Fey. Flight of Conchords" received nominations for outstanding comedy series while Family Guy" received a nomination for outstanding comedy-which is usually for live action shows. The Emmys will be handed out in Los Angeles on Sept. 20. Neil Patrick Harris will host the program.
