James Franco Turns Ad Man for Seven For All Mankind

Branching out from his acting career, James Franco has switched things up to take on a directorial project in the world of advertising. The Golden Globe winning actor got behind the camera to shoot video vignettes for the denim brand Seven For All Mankind, with the first of ten episodes to premiere on YouTube on February 15th. Talking about the new gig, Franco told WWD, “The videos have a vintage feel to them. They feel like they are from a different era, which I think really fits with the new line that Seven had in the shoot — a lot of cool denim tops and jeans." “The look of the film and the clothes feels very Seventies,” the 33-year-old added of the project. “We shot right on the beach and drove up the PCH [Pacific Coast Highway], so I guess you could say it’s a vintage 1970’s California dreamy feel. The movies that I cut together have a lot of weird double exposures and super- imposed images over other images, so it’s a real, I guess you could say, trip.”

Getting down to business on his new gig, James Franco was spotted on the set of “Lovelace” in Los Angeles last night (January 26). The “Rise of the Planet of the Apes” stud looked handsome as he got into character as a 1972 version of Playboy mogul Hugh Hefner. “Lovelace” is a biopic about 70s porn star Linda Lovelace, starring Amanda Seyfried and Peter Sarsgaard. Additionally, Demi Moore was recently replaced, due to personal issues, by Mary Louise Parker, who will now be playing Gloria Steinem.
