The Internet is abuzz with reports that Eddie Murphy is dead. He is not. We repeat: Twitter is not a news source. Eddie Murphy is 100% alive. Sources close to the Tower Heist star have already debunked the hoax, just the latest in a long line of online pranks designed to fake kill a star for some reason. The frenzy was initially sparked by MediaFetcher (dot) com, then spread like wildfire thanks to Twitter. This site is believed to be responsible for spinning bogus stories about other numerous celebrities they claim are dead but are not. The Bon Jovi death hoax was a different guy, but Cher, Charlie Sheen, TooShort, The Rock, Kevin Bacon, Luke Perry, Jack Black, Will Smith, Jaden Smith, Tom Green, Tiger Woods, George Clooney and others have fallen victim of late. The former X Factor star is apparently planning to perform her new single for the very first time on The Voice, the BBC’s rival singing contest to the X Factor – which is scheduled to appear on TV screens at the same time as the ITV show. A source has revealed today: “Cheryl should be releasing her single when The Voice is on TV so it makes sense to combine the two.” “Cheryl’s manager Will.i.am is obviously a judge on the show so he’s already been talking to producers to get the ball rolling. “The BBC are desperate to beat Cowell and BGT in the ratings and they know there’s no better way to do that than by getting Cheryl to perform her new single for the very first time live on the show.” Simon has made no secret about the fact that he’s angry with the Beeb for scheduling the Voice at the same time as X Factor so we can only imagine how well this piece of news has gone down with him.

You’d think new mum Lily Allen (now Lilly Cooper) would be too busy getting to grips with nappy changes and baby bottles to have the time to get her claws out for another celebrity cat fight. But no, Mrs Cooper is in the ring and surprise-surprise it’s none other than Cheryl Cole who has been subject to her latest rant. The singer who has kept a relatively low profile since getting married last year took to Twitter to dig at the Girls Aloud band mate after reports emerged that Chezza’s friend and fellow band member Sarah Harding had been charged with assault after a bust up with her ex-boyfriend Theo De Vries, 35. Lily Allen tweeted: “40% of Girls Aloud will have been charged with assault.” Lily is referring to Cheryl Cole’s 2003 conviction of assaulting a toilet attendant. Showbiz journalist Dan Wooton criticised Allen for her remarks claiming that they came from ‘an irrational hate for Girls Aloud’ to which Lily replied: “Errrr inaccurate! I LOVE Girls Aloud, ‘Promise’ is mine and Sam’s song.” Cheryl wasn’t convinced and unfollowed Lily shortly after her tweet. This wouldn’t be the first time Cheryl and Lily had a war of words. In 2007 Lily called Cheryl a ‘stupid bitch’ and claimed she needed ‘auto tune’ to sing, to which Cheryl retaliated by labelling Lily ‘a chick with a dick’.

The chart topping X Factor finalist Tweeted, “I’m going on tour next March/April are you excited (:” The tour starts in Folkestone on 29th March and ends in Nottingham a couple of weeks later, but here’s the really strange bit; while tickets to see the show are an extremely reasonable £15.50, Cher is also offering fans the chance to meet her before the show for £150 a pop! £150 for a meet and greet?! Is she crazy?!

Gary Barlow probably isn’t going to be too pleased to hear that Cheryl Cole has now pulled out of her scheduled performance at Children In Need Rocks. The singer was supposed to do a duet alongside Barlow at the charity gig in Manchester. Apparently she’s got “pharyngitis” which is just a posh way of saying she’s got a sore throat. A spokesperson for her said: “Cheryl Cole has sadly had to pull out of a performance at CIN Rocks this week as she is suffering from pharyngitis." Last night Gary Barlow expressed concerns about Cheryl’s health during rehersals for the show, saying: “We’re still waiting to hear but, if it doesn’t happen, I don’t know what we’re going to do."
