The Internet is abuzz with reports that Eddie Murphy is dead. He is not. We repeat: Twitter is not a news source. Eddie Murphy is 100% alive. Sources close to the Tower Heist star have already debunked the hoax, just the latest in a long line of online pranks designed to fake kill a star for some reason. The frenzy was initially sparked by MediaFetcher (dot) com, then spread like wildfire thanks to Twitter. This site is believed to be responsible for spinning bogus stories about other numerous celebrities they claim are dead but are not. The Bon Jovi death hoax was a different guy, but Cher, Charlie Sheen, TooShort, The Rock, Kevin Bacon, Luke Perry, Jack Black, Will Smith, Jaden Smith, Tom Green, Tiger Woods, George Clooney and others have fallen victim of late. Looking much healthier and happier as of late, Charlie Sheen has been enjoying a tropical getaway with his ex-wife Denise Richards and their daughters Sam and Lola. Yesterday (December 22) the former “Two and a Half Men” star posted a picture of the whole crew swimming with a dolphin. Along with the photo, Charlie added a caption- “Just when we thought the trip couldn’t get any better, we met Nuna.” And while Denise insists she’ll never get romantically involved with Sheen again, she’s still happy to have him in her life. “I’ll never cut off contact with Charlie. He’s my girls’ dad. As they’re older they’ll deal with him how they can,” she stated earlier this year.

Brooke Mueller: Giving Rehab Another Go

Taking a stab at cleaning up her life once again, Brooke Mueller is heading back to rehab. The ex-wife to Charlie Sheen will be going through outpatient therapy for her cocaine issue but will be able to keep custody of the couple’s two children, Bob and Max. Mueller’s rep told press in a statement, “Recognizing past attempts at treatment have not been successful, Brooke has decided to take a different approach to deal with her addiction. Brooke will be participating in a program during the day, and will be under expert supervision 24 hours a day, seven days a week.” “In addition, Brooke has requested to be tested on a daily basis for cocaine and other illegal substances so there is no doubt as to her commitment,” the statement went on to say.

A recent changed rule by the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences increased the number of nominees in bigger categories so that new faces and series could also share the spotlight with Emmy veterans. 30 Rock" managed to get 22 nominations that included nominations for Tina Fey and Alex Baldwin. Mad Men" received 16 nominations that included nods for Jon Hamm and Elsabeth Moss. Comedy categories were picked up by Sarah Silverman, who was nominated for lead actress in a comedy series along with Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Tina Fey.
