Battling its way to the top spot in theaters, "Immortals" took charge of first place at the box office over the weekend of November 11-13, 2011. The Tarsem Singh directed Greek warrior flick starring Henry Cavill and Freida Pinto took in a powerful million on opening day while pacing towards an expected million debut weekend. Landing the runner-up slot was another cinema newcomer, with the Adam Sandler and Katie Holmes fronted comedy "Jack and Jill" scoring million on Friday to put it on track for a million opening weekend take. Rounding out the top five at the box office in estimated weekend totals were the Salma Hayek/Antonio Banderas fronted animated film "Puss In Boots" ( million), followed by "Tower Heist" ( million) and the Clint Eastwood directed/Leonardo DiCaprio starring drama "J. Edgar" ( million).
Shaping up to be one of the great comedies of the year, "Jack and Jill" made its way into theaters nationwide today (November 11). Employing some of the biggest names in Tinseltown, the sure to be hilariously funny flick stars Katie Holmes and Adam Sandler in the lead roles. "Jack and Jill" tells the tale of "family guy Jack Sadelstein, who prepares for the annual event he dreads: the Thanksgiving visit of his identical twin sister, the needy and passive-aggressive Jill, who then refuses to leave." Directed by Dennis Dugan, the comedy sees Sandler take on the dual role of both Jack and Jill, while also starring Al Pacino, David Spade, Nick Swardson, Tim Meadows, Norm MacDonald and Dana Carvey.
