As he continues to recover from a particularly serious bout of pneumonia, which left him hospitalised and fighting for his life over Christmas, George Michael has spent the passed week holidaying somewhere hot and sunny with his boyfriend Fadi Fawaz. Last night Fadi posted a series of pictures of the loved-up pair on his Twitter page, alongside the caption, ‘Isn’t he cute?!’ Erm, he’s not really our type but… *awkward* So anyway Fadi isn’t the only one who’s been busy on Twitter, earlier in the week George wrote: “Even my tracheotomy scar is healing nicely in the sun, was looking a bit Bride of Chucky for a while.” He then added, “Spoke to doctors before I came away and they told me my recovery is way quicker than can usually be expected so I’m happy as Larry!” And we’re happy as Larry for him. No, seriously, we are.

Opening up during what turned into to be an emotional statement, George Michael recently explained his life and death battle with pneumonia. Chatting with reporters outside his London home on Friday (December 23), the “Faith” singer described his sickness as “by far, the worst month of my life.” He went on to say that the doctors at a Vienna hospital spent three weeks “keeping me alive.” “I spent the last ten days since I woke up literally thanking people for saving my life,” George choked. “I’m incredibly fortunate to be here. If I wasn’t spiritual enough [before the illness], then I certainly am now.”

George Michael has spent the past few weeks holed up in a hospital Vienna recovering from a particularly nasty bout on pneumonia and although it was widely reported last week that the 48-year-old singer would be spending Christmas there it’s now been revealed that he’s heading home. Apparently, unless he takes a turn for the worse, George is expected to be discharged within days. On Sunday George’s boyfriend, Fadi Fawaz broke the news on Twitter. He wrote, “Christmas at home. I cannot stop smiling today, the best day ever. He is getting better and better. Nothing to worry about, happy days.”
